Apple Laptops Selling Like Hotcakes
Reports are that Apple is now the third largest seller of retail laptops in the US, with 17.6% of the market according to NPD. Only HP and Toshiba have larger shares. Apple laptops are now outselling Dell, Gateway, and Lenovo.
This is good news for two reasons. First, it signifies that consumers may be looking away from commodity hardware and looking toward more complete systems of higher quality. Apple’s hardware is largely considered expensive for the technical specs that you get.
Second it shows that people aren’t adverse to change. With people showing a willingness to leave Windows, the old tried and true that most of us grew up with, more cash may be put into competing products and ventures.
Competition is always good. It brings out the best in everyone.
